Background of Lesson
This lesson is aimed at helping students understand what the people of Utah look like. The key takeaways I like them to remember are:
Utah is a fairly large state (in physical size)
Utah has approx. 3 million people in it
We have a very young population
We are growing faster than almost any other state
We are highly educated
Most of the population of Utah lives along the Wasatch Front
Instructions for Lesson
This lesson is just an assignment.
I introduce the assignment to the students, then give them the entire class to work on it. I usually set it up as a quiz on Canvas, that way it's automatically graded, but that leads to issues sometimes (like with commas and capitalization of words).
Here's the Assignment:
Have the students go to https://worldpopulationreview.com/states/utah-population
